Gregg's a musician who's in it for the long haul, the kind whose story is about sticking around, not chasing trends. He's been writing songs, singing, and messing with sounds using the clarinet, guitar, and cool effects since the '80s. He's built his sound over time, changing it up but always staying true to himself. At the same time, he’s part of Paradise 9, a band from Brighton that mixes psych, proto-punk, and space-rock, where cosmic energy and underground vibes go hand in hand.

His first solo album, Songs From the Underground, is coming out in 2025, and it’s like a time capsule. It’s got songs he wrote when he was busking in the '90s – songs that came to life on the move, right there with people and the city. The music goes from folk to alternative, indie rock to psychedelic blues, which Gregg just calls space-folk: down-to-earth songs with their eyes on another world.

Martin (from Litmus) recorded and produced the album and also played bass, keyboards, synths, guitars, and percussion. Gregg sings and plays guitar, glissando guitar, clarinet, and synths. There are some great guests on the record, too: Nick Pynn and Eugene McClouskey on violins, Jeanette Murphy singing backup, and Tyrone Thomas from Paradise 9 playing lead and slide guitars. The result is a natural, warm, and really human piece of work. Gregg grew up in Aylesbury and started out in bands like The Presence, which played with Marillion and Ozric Tentacles in the early '80s. In 1987, he moved to London and started Image Wot Image with Jeanette Murphy. They toured a lot around London, southeast England, and different festivals.
