born in portugal
After the success of Ego, the first taste of his rock album Prison Of Modesty, Martin Kuiper is releasing his second single, Time. With a catchy riff and a chorus you won't forget, the song gets at something honest and relatable: struggling with time as you chase your dreams.

Time is a tune that sticks with you, thanks to a surprising intro and a chorus you can't shake. It’s the cure for the winter blues, Kuiper jokes. But under the rock energy, there's a really personal story. It's a song about how time can get in the way when you're chasing what you want. I really felt that when I finished high school and during my student years.”

With “Time,” Kuiper gets that feeling of life speeding up when you leave home to start college. I was 17 when I started studying Physics in Groningen. But I didn't really know why I picked that. It was kind of a weight on me without me even realizing it. Picking a career or a job felt like a huge, final choice at the time.” The music video shows this contrast, mixing old clips of Kuiper himself with driving and racing scenes. You see me as a 17-year-old with long hair, going out into the world and, stumbling, changing into a neat guy, ready to go to work, he says with a laugh. The cars crashing are like a tough time I had at the end of my studies, when the pressure of time was just too much.”
