Paper Mountains

Paper Mountains is Toby Lloyd’s solo project: a warm, stripped-back meeting point of folk, soul and pop. After years producing, co-writing and recording hundreds of songs for other artists, Lloyd now steps forward with a story entirely his own.
The debut album follows one relationship from first exhilaration to the difficult moment something meaningful begins to change. Rather than hiding behind metaphor, these songs say things as they are — direct, intimate and lived-in.
Influenced by Iron & Wine, Sam Cooke and Jack Johnson, Paper Mountains doesn’t imitate its references. The songs use those touchstones to make room for Lloyd’s own voice: honest songwriting that lets the feeling sit right at the center.
This is a record about stepping out from behind the music and putting a personal story in front of it.
