NOR.BE

NOR.BE has spent years developing a sound that sits somewhere between cinematic jazz, epic rock and classical orchestration. His latest work brings that idea to life with the help of some of the most recognized musicians in contemporary rock and jazz, including Steve Vai and Joe Satriani.

At the center of the project is the NOR.BE Collective, a constantly evolving group of musicians brought together around his compositions. The lineup has included Vinnie Colaiuta, John Patitucci, Marco Minnemann and Mohini Dey, alongside Vai and Satriani and other musicians from four continents. Rather than building his music around a fixed band, NOR.BE treats each collaboration as another way to expand the sound.

The result is music designed to feel larger than a conventional rock or jazz recording. Electric guitars and powerful rhythms meet orchestral arrangements, while the jazz elements give the compositions room to move and develop. The cinematic quality comes not only from the instrumentation, but from the scale of the arrangements and the way the different musicians are brought together.

That ambition also extends beyond the studio. NOR.BE has performed his compositions with symphony orchestras, including a headline performance at the ancient Roman theatre of Dougga with the Barcelona Youth Symphony Orchestra. He has also appeared as a guest of honour at the Carthage International Festival, bringing his compositions into spaces where rock, jazz and orchestral music can exist side by side.

The project is leading toward A Dream Come True, NOR.BE’s debut album, mastered by Bernie Grundman. The record will receive a worldwide release through Right Track/Universal Music, accompanied by the project's first-ever vinyl edition.

For NOR.BE, the goal is not simply to combine different genres, but to create a musical language of his own. Jazz provides the freedom, rock brings the force, and orchestration expands the world around them. Together, they form the foundation of a project built on scale, collaboration and a distinctly cinematic vision.
